Privacy protects patient's rights over the use and disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI)

Security protects unauthorized access to Protected Health Information (PHI) and the loss of PHI.

There is much more to becoming HIPAA compliant than having a Notice of Privacy Practices. You must have a HIPAA manual with Policies and Procedures, forms, etc. to be compliant. We can help you with this process.

Medicare will start denying Part B and DME MACS claims in October, 2007 for claims that do not have an NIPI that is matched to your Medicare ID number. If the pair is not found on the Medicare NPI crosswalk, the claims will reject.
